Michael Cross, LPC, is the heart behind Directed Steps Counseling Center. With a strong academic foundation in psychology and counseling,—and real-life experience navigating blended families and divorce—Michael brings both clinical skill and genuine empathy into every session. He works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families, with a special passion for adolescent males and complex family systems.

 

Michael’s approach blends cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, and pastoral care to help clients build healthy boundaries, improve communication, challenge harmful thinking patterns, and rediscover hope. His vision is simple but powerful: care for the whole person and promote lasting relational health.

 

Beyond client care, Michael is equally committed to helping other therapists thrive. Directed Steps Counseling Center was created to be a place where clinicians can grow their private practices without walking the road alone—through collaboration, consultation, referrals, and a supportive professional community.
